As I draw closer, I am delighted as I realise that this is the famous Templar Sanctuary of Nuestra Senora de Eunate. I have seen many photos of this building, a visit to which was recommended as we walked the Camino Frances in 2006. On that occasion, I had the impression that it was a fair way off the camino we were on, so decided to fore go the visit. Taking stock of my bearings at this point. I realise now that the detour would not have been a long one after all.
